This year’s Independence Day celebration will take place on Sunday, July 5th, at the American Women’s Club of Brussels Clubhouse. The entire family is welcome to attend this fun, family-style event that is a co-hosted by the ACB and the AWCB. All proceeds will be donated to the American Overseas Memorial Day Association (www.aomda.org).
The day will start with a co-ed ACB vs. AWCB softball game at St John’s International School in Waterloo from 10 am to 12 pm. The main event itself takes place at the AWCB clubhouse and will commence with a patriotic ceremony from 12.30 pm to 1 pm, followed by the picnic meal.
Hamburgers, hotdogs and drinks are available for purchase and long tables are bedecked with potluck assortment of popular American-style salads, sides and desserts. All ACB participants are encouraged to please bring a dessert. Children are welcome and volunteers are always needed to help organize the kids’ games. Please let us know if you can lend a hand. If you enjoy grilling, volunteers are also needed to help with the BBQ!
Admission to the event is free of charge and reservations are due by July 1st. Please note that reservations can now be made with ease by logging on to the club’s newly updated website, www.americanclubbrussels.org. Need help? Call the club office on 02/219.58.08 weekdays from 11 am to 3 pm. Mieke will be pleased to walk you through the procedure!
The addresses of St. John's International School and the AWCB Clubhouse will be confirmed to you upon registration.
